AN URGENT CALL FOR YOUR OLD CELL PHONES
Menomonee Falls Police Department Menomonee Falls Neighborhood Watch (MFNW) has teamed up with the National Sheriffs’ Association, the National Association of Triads and the 911 Cell Phone Bank to help provide that critical link between law enforcement and someone in trouble. MFNW will collect used phones, no matter what condition they are in, and send them to the 911 Cell Phone Bank. In return, MFNW receives free, clean, working emergency cell phones that include an extra battery and charger. The refurbished phones will then be distributed, free of charge, to seniors and victims of abuse in our community. Your old cell phones can be dropped off at the Menomonee Falls Police Department Business Office, W156 N8480 Pilgrim Rd., Monday – Wednesday (8:00 am to 6:30 pm) and Thursday and Friday (8:00 am to 4:30 pm). Please visit www.911cellphonebank.org for more information.

Thank you!

Wisconsin's D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year
Menomonee Falls Police Department 2007 D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year

On July 10, 2007, the Wisconsin D.A.R.E. Officers' Association named Juvenile Officer Jim Kirchberger as the 2007 D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year. Jim was selected to receive the award after a very arduous selection process in which many deserving officers were nominated. His nomination package consisted of over 100 letters of recommendation from a variety of individuals, including politicians, school principals, teachers, former students, parents, and other law enforcement officers.

J.O. Kirchberger is truly deserving of this award and recognition. His many years of hard work and dedicated service, along with being recognized at the State level in receiving this award, brings great credit to himself, the Menomonee Falls Police Department, and the Village of Menomonee Falls. He is now in possession of the Wisconsin D.A.R.E. Officers' Association Officer of the Year traveling plaque, which recognizes him and all previous winners. The plaque will hang in the Menomonee Falls Police Department for one year. At next year's Wisconsin D.A.R.E. Officers' Association Conference, Jim will present the plaque to the 2008 recipient. We all congratulate him on this very special accomplishment.
