Menomonee Falls Neighborhood Watch (MFNW) The objective of our Neighborhood Watch is to work in partnership with the Menomonee Falls Police Department in a cooperative effort towards preventing and reducing crime in the Village of Menomonee Falls, in order to maintain the high quality of life that we all enjoy. We act as an additional set of eyes and ears for our police officers. Neighborhood Watch Annual Silent Auction returning to The Trysting Place Saturday, September 7th – 10:00 am. to 2:00 pm. Be sure to check out the Menomonee Falls Neighborhood Watch 13th Annual Silent Auction. The Houston Police Department's Homeland Security received a grant to make a "what to do if there is an active shooter" video. It is short, precise, gives options, is very well done. Obviously there have been a number of "experts," television pundits, law enforcement professionals, etc., since the Aurora, Colorado shooting, giving varying opinions on what to do and when to do them in the event of an "active shooter." MFNW Receives National Sheriffs Award for 2009

"Selected as Best Neighborhood Watch Group in the U.S.A. in 2009 by the National Sheriff's Association" 2009 AWARD: Excellence by a Neighborhood Watch Group The Menomonee Falls Neighborhood Watch, WI has made great strides in improving the Village of Menomonee Falls, educating and empowering the residents while assisting the Menomonee Falls Police Department. The group believes that safety and security start at home. Their mission is to work in partnership with the police department in a cooperative effort towards preventing crime in order to maintain the high quality of life. The group began in 1986 with one neighborhood concerned about a series of thefts that were occurring. That one neighborhood has grown to 185 blocks including 4,500 if approximately 10,000 households. NEWS RELEASE – How to Avoid Being Victims of Crime and Fraud

NEWS RELEASE  Fifty members of the Tri County Y’s Active Older Adult club were recently educated by a trio of local experts on how to avoid being victims of crime and fraud. Coordinating the program for the Y was Lowell Carl, a retired insurance fraud manager, and now an independent business consultant who advises businesses on topics including fraud prevention. Carl recruited Detective Chris Cybell of the Menomonee Falls Police Department and Menomonee Falls Neighbor Watch President, Bill Schmitz, to join him as presenters. Carl was asked by Tri County Y management to coordinate the program as part of his role a Y Ambassador. Y Ambassadors are chosen to be conduits of information between members and center management.
