Menomonee Falls Crime Alert A business in Menomonee Falls received a telephone call demanding payment for overdue electricity bills. These calls are fraudulent, as WE Energies will not call demanding payment for unpaid utility bills. The caller was convincing in that they had information that was accurate about the business and property. The caller had directed the business owner to purchase Reloadit Cards totaling $1000 and had her call back with the card information. Utilities will NOT request this information and if in doubt, contact the utility company in question. Menomonee Falls Crime Alert Several customers of Menomonee Falls utility services have recently received telephone calls demanding payment for overdue water utility bills. These calls are fraudulent, as the utility will not call demanding payment for unpaid utility bills. The caller also requested the customer’s bank account number, which our utility would not do. Victims have received unsolicited calls from individuals demanding payment while fraudulently claiming to be from the IRS. Scammers have been reported to threaten victims with legal if immediate payment is not made for unpaid taxes. Many victims will provide their credit card, debit or prepaid credit card numbers to make the payment. Telephone Scam – Claiming to be WE Energies

Menomonee Falls Police Department Crime Alert! The Menomonee Falls Police Department received information regarding a telephone scam with a suspect claiming to be a representative from WE Energies. The suspect threatened that WE Energies would cut the power off to the victim’s business if he didn't pay the bill. The victim was instructed to purchase $1500 in reloadable gift cards to make a payment for an outstanding utility balance.  These gift cards can be purchased from most area merchants and once loaded, the charges cannot be reversed. The Victim advised that the call came from phone # 1-877-334-4951 and the person calling was named Todd Harper or Hopper, which was fraudulent/ficticious. Menomonee Falls Crime Alert Menomonee Falls & surrounding communities are experiencing an increase in daytime burglaries to residences.  Suspects utilize the following scheme: Stolen vehicle is backed into driveway (different stolen vehicles have been used).  One suspect rings the front doorbell repeatedly.  If no one answers, suspects enter home through unlocked doors/windows or will force entry if necessary.  If door is answered, suspects give the name of a fictitious person they are trying to contact and will leave quickly **SUSPECTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED**  When a victim confronted a suspect removing a screen from an open window, one of the suspects brandished a firearm.  Suspects are stealing electronics, cash, jewelry, firearms and vehicle.
