Telephone Scam – Claiming to be WE Energies

Menomonee Falls Police Department Crime Alert! The Menomonee Falls Police Department received information regarding a telephone scam with a suspect claiming to be a representative from WE Energies. The suspect threatened that WE Energies would cut the power off to the victim’s business if he didn't pay the bill. The victim was instructed to purchase $1500 in reloadable gift cards to make a payment for an outstanding utility balance.  These gift cards can be purchased from most area merchants and once loaded, the charges cannot be reversed. The Victim advised that the call came from phone # 1-877-334-4951 and the person calling was named Todd Harper or Hopper, which was fraudulent/ficticious. Asphalt Sealing then Purse Snatching

Crime Alert! On 07/29/15 at 1:00 pm, the Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to theft of purse complaint from a residence. The elderly victim was approached by a 30’s male white (clean shaven operating a beige or gray work van with a black trailer containing a sealant tank) indicating that he was with an asphalt company “working in the area” and he had “extra sealer.” A short time later the victim allowed the suspect to enter her home after the work was completed. The suspect insisted on a cash payment at which time the victim retrieved her purse. Upon returning to the kitchen victim now found another male white in her home. Daytime Residential Burglaries – Menomonee Falls and surrounding communities

Menomonee Falls Crime Alert Menomonee Falls & surrounding communities are experiencing an increase in daytime burglaries to residences.  Suspects utilize the following scheme: Stolen vehicle is backed into driveway (different stolen vehicles have been used).  One suspect rings the front doorbell repeatedly.  If no one answers, suspects enter home through unlocked doors/windows or will force entry if necessary.  If door is answered, suspects give the name of a fictitious person they are trying to contact and will leave quickly **SUSPECTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED**  When a victim confronted a suspect removing a screen from an open window, one of the suspects brandished a firearm.  Suspects are stealing electronics, cash, jewelry, firearms and vehicle. Menomonee Falls Crime Alert The Village of Menomonee Falls and surrounding communities, have experienced an increase in daytime burglaries to residential homes.  In most instances entry to the victims' homes is being made through the garage service door.  The criminal(s) will then steal jewelry, narcotics, electronics, firearms, and motor vehicles – if they can locate keys. Instead, they distract the victims and steal credit cards, money, jewelry and safes. Kids are putting a chemicals, a metal product, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mailboxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you'll never make it!!!
